Opening day for trout in Rhode Island was a huge success. We headed over to the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association campus (where I am a member) and were pleasantly surprised by the number of fishermen there walking away with nets full of trout. After shooting the shit with a couple guys about cars and fishing, we picked a spot and walked over.
On the second cast, @holdenfish landed a nice rainbow on a rooster tail. He continued to pick up trout one after another. They didn’t go after my lure until I switched to a jighead worm setup. We easily landed a dozen within an hour and took a makeshift stick stringer of 4 rainbows back for lunch. They tasted great with some limited edition proclamation ale company beers!
