Fished a popular river for stripers this morning left the launch by 5:30 and had lines wet by 6:00 first cast offered me something I have never seen in person my entire life. A 27″ striper that smacked my black/purple bomber, upon getting the fish in the boat I noticed it had a 10″ sea lamprey attached I pulled it off and let the striper go on its merry way. Fished the flats for another 20 minutes and landed two more schoolies then moved to another spot. The tide was slack and the bite was completely off for a solid two hours. Once the tide started to come in I moved to another flat and marked a large school of fish. I ended up fishing this stretch of water until 10-1030 when I headed in. Boated roughly 30-40 fish, relatively slow day on the river but had 5 fish between 25-27″ the rest were 18-20″

Gear: shimano Teremar NE, abu garcia revo inshore, spidewire 30# braid, 20# flouro leader, Black/purple bomber, White 1/2 jig with 5″ white housatonic swimbait.
